Colligere et Capere
To collect and to capture. One person, a camera and a notebook, standing between places and trying to hold what is already leaving.
I keep what most people walk past: a coin still warm from someone's pocket, a tool worn to the shape of one hand, light on a wall for four minutes at noon. I shoot it, write it down and file it here, one place and one season at a time.
The practice
Photographs, film and creative direction, made slowly.
What I make
Documentary and street series, landscape studies, campaigns for makers and short silent films. Direction, styling, stills and moving image, alone or with a small crew.
How it is made
Each volume starts in a notebook and, where it can, runs a full year: one subject, four seasons. Shot on a 35mm rangefinder, edited by hand, captioned like a field report.
What you can trust
Frames marked Preview are generated, to plan a volume. Photographs will carry content credentials, so their origin can be checked.
Collect
Keep the overlooked things that still carry a trace of a life.
Capture
Hold the passing light long enough for someone else to see it.
Show the flaw
Leave the seam visible, because the imperfect part tells the truth.
