Dokkaebi market

Where thrown-away things find second owners.

Medium Documentary photographs and film

A dokkaebi mask, a brass bowl and a pocket watch on a market blanket under one bare bulb.

Some flea markets are called dokkaebi markets, after the goblin said to take shape in the things people throw away. This one stays unnamed. One autumn day, first light to closing: tarps on concrete, a bare bulb, hands turning over someone else's life for a few coins. What gets let go of, and who picks it up.
